Southern Organization for Human Services
Thomas Hines recently attended the Southern Organization for Human Services 32nd Annual Conference, held in Asheville, N.C. The theme of the three days conference was “Human Services: Reaching New Heights”. 

National Association of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Title III Administrators, Inc.
The National Association of HBCU Title III Administrators Annual Technical Assistance Workshop will be held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway Hotel, Arlington, Virginia scheduled for June 24-27, 2007. Registration information can also be found on the Association’s website at www.hbcut3a.org.

The Association Workshop Committee has assembled the best talent and persons in the field to conduct and speak on topics in the identified sessions in order to make us both more effective and efficient “Grant Administrators” in the era of accountability and best practices grant stewardship.

Webster University
Thomas Hines will be instructing the Webster University’s Graduate course in Human Resources Development  HRDV 5630 Organization Development and Change starting May 30, 2007 at the Fort Stewart campus. Organization development (OD) is the process of planning and implementing interventions to create interpersonal, group, inter-group, or organization-wide change. This course presents the theoretical foundations of organization development as an applied behavioral science. Students will also be introduced to many types of interpersonal, intra-group, inter-group, and organizational interventions that are used to effect comprehensive and lasting changes.

University of Phoenix
Thomas Hines will be instructing the University of Phoenix (UOP) Communication 110 course beginning April 26, 2007. This course will provide students with the basic concepts of oral presentations. Students will be able to develop and deliver effective individual and group presentations in classroom and professional settings. The course is also designed to provide a maximum opportunity for practice and evaluation of presentation techniques.

Thomas Hines has also joined the UOP’s new Savannah "Extended Learning Facilitator" (ELF) program. This initiative is aimed at improving student retention.

Hines Consultant has been designated and certified as part of the State of Georgia’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program. The purpose of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program is to implement the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) that retains continuation of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in highway and transit programs.  The DBE Program is to ensure "level playing field" and foster equal opportunity in U. S. Department of Transportation assisted contracts with small business concerns which are owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. 

Hines Consultant provides professional administrative consulting services with positive diversified insight that may not be available with other consulting firms. The designation as a participant in the Georgia DOT DBE program enables Hines Consultant to compete with other larger and more established firms.
